Department of Law

The department of Law was established in 2014. Department of Law offers B.A.LL.B (Five year integrated course) having 120 Seats. Department is duly recognized by Bar Council of India and affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala. Department organizes various co- curricular activities and regular court visits. It was started with an intention to provide a strong foundation upon which students can choose to pursue professional options or further academic opportunities. The teaching methods adopted for the Degree programme are such as to promote multi-disciplinary inquiry and practical appreciation of problems. This involves lectures, discussions, case studies, Moot Courts and project work.

Department regularly organizes Seminars, Paper Presentations Discussions, Symposiums and various competitions in order to improve and promote the quality.

Students of the Dept. have won first prize in the Law Festival organized by National Law University, Patiala.

 

Students visited Old- Age Home named “Mata Khivi Bridh Ashram” Patiala. They have interacted with the inmates and analyzed the working of the old age home and its Administration.

 

Visit to Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana for Hon’ble CJI S.A.Bobde’s  Special Lecture

 

Students have taken part in the Law fest organised by the Panjab University, Chandigarh and secured the second position in the Law Quiz.

 

Students sensitized the masses regarding ill effects of tobacco on “Punjab Anti Tobacco Day”

 

Seminar on the topic of “Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy” conducted

 

The World Environment day was celebrated by the Dept. The occasion was graced by Padam Shri Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal (Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha).

Dept. has organized the Buddy programme under the direction of State Government for the campaign against drugs.
