DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY
Government Mohindra College is a prestigious college in the field of basic sciences. Being topmost college in the Northern India in the field of arts and life sciences, the visionaries decided to set up a multidisciplinary department as applied sciences. The department of Biotechnology was founded in 2006 with the vision to recognize as a department of national repute with a strong teaching ways in biological and applied sciences. Modern biotechnology finds application in a variety of domains such as Pharmaceutical industry, Bioprocess Technology, tissue culture, Fermentation industry, Intellectual Property rights and applied Medical Sciences. Well-developed labs in the department are equipped with good infra structure and instruments for practical knowledge. Hands on training are also provided and industries nearby labs are visited to enhance their knowledge and practical skills. Faculty of the department also provides counseling to the students for further studies and perception. B.Sc. (Hons.) biotechnology students are now placed in various fields such as junior assistant (Karan Negi at RNAVAX Bio, CSIR) Quality assurance officer in India (Ranvir Singh) and abroad (Gurkirat Kaur, Inpreet and Prabhjot), as instructor (Mridul).
