Message on the 150th Foundation Day
‘Mohindra’ is not just a college, it’s a vision that has grown from strength to strength; it’s an idea that has developed a meaningful connection with mutating forms of governance. Its essence has shaped lakhs of learners, and further touched lives of millions more. From its majestic structure radiates an uplifting spirit that pervades its imposing pillars, lofty still ceilings, regal arches, iconic corridors and the serene spread of gardens. To its die-hard admirers, sunsets transform the building of the college into a mesmerizing edifice, the kind that awaits the magic of a classical opera. For sure, its aura transforms all who enter the precincts. For ages it has remained a site for the exchange of ideas, both, rooted and foreign, humanistic and scientific. By virtue of being an enduring ode to statesmanlike perception, intellectual generosity, beauty, technical brilliance and nine years of physical labour, it’s also a plea against turning a blind eye to History and heritage.
