OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

Old Students Association

Old Students’ Association, Govt. Mohindra College, Patiala, is an Alumni Association of one of the Oldest Institutions of higher learning in North India. The OSA is the outcome of concerted efforts of many old Mohindrians, who for years together nurtured a keen desire to have a permanent platform in the form of an Association to reinforce their emotional bond with their Alma Mater so that the Association, out of sheer gratitude could contribute to the growth of the College in multiple ways possible.

The OSA has been endeavouring to contribute maximally to the growth of the College in several ways. It has also published a Directory of its Members and three Souvenirs to mark different occasions. The OSA also publishes its News Letter.

In the current times, it has become imperative to stay connected, especially in our Network society. Hence the OSA has worked on creating a website (www.osamohindracollege.org) so that old students of this great college can be in touch with each other and with their Alma Mater in whichever country they are. This inter-connectivity provides a welcome opportunity to all old Mohindrians to be a part of the College, and to share with each other their precious memories of their student days and proud achievements in life.

The old student association is the registered alumni association. The OSA was registered on 28.02.2001. The registration number is No DIC/PTA/Society 426/28/2001. The society has been registered under the Society Regulation Act (XXI of 1860) and amended by the Punjab Amendment Act 1957. The Executive Committee of OSA consists of approximately 42 members. The OSA has approximately 700 members.

The members of the Old Students Association (OSA) of Mohindra College are actively involved in benefitting the students as well as society at large. The members of this association made provision for a water cooler in order to ensure a safe drinking water facility for staff members as well as for college students.

There is a separate section in the college magazine related to the Old Students Association, where the Alma Mater shares their personal experiences in order to motivate the students to excel in life. The following members play active roles for this organization Prof Sal as General Secretary, Prof Parminder Singh Sidhu and Prof Ashok Verma specifically involved in environmental conservation. During the pandemic, there were no meetings of OSA. However immediately after that in 2020-21, the OSA members with their relentless efforts for the protection of the environment adopted a Municipal park in the vicinity of the college under the clean and green mission. With the diligent work of OSA members, the long time deserted park is now converted into a green belt area. File Description Document.
